Here is Josh's submission victory from May 11th's USKO Fight Night 1 in Riverside, CA. 

The victory came in the first round via armbar after an amazing sequence by Josh to stay locked on his opponents arm and not give up!

Congratulations to Josh and all the members of the NOCMA Competition Team for stepping in the ring.

On May 11 the NOCMA Competition Team competed at the USKO Fight Night 1 promotion in Riverside. There were 10 Kid's MMA fights and 4 adult MMA fights that began just after 6 pm and ran until late in the evening!

Our Competition team had 2 Wins by submissions, 1 loss by points and 1 loss by submission. All were great fights with all team members performing at their best and we congratulate them all for having the courage to step in the ring!

The Team, led by Coach Cam Brewer, also gathered 14 points to move them into 3rd place in the USFL West Team Rankings! With less than two years of existence, Coach Cam has done an outstanding job in not only creating the NOCMA Youth Pankration program but also leading the Competition Team into 3rd place. Thank you Cam.

The new NOCMA Rash Guards and shorts are ready for production and are now on pre-order! 

These will be high quality, sublimated rash guards with a new short sleeve design with matching shorts. They will last longer and are better quality than our previous design.

Rash guards can be worn under the gi or with shorts for no gi training. The are also worn during our kids MMA matches and this new design was created with them in mind.

On Saturday May 11 the NOCMA Competition Team will be competing in the USKO MMA Fight Night. Our team has been around less than two years and is already having a strong showing in the USFL West Rankings. They are ranked 4th with 28 points. 

Coach Cam Brewer, who was a Youth Pankration champion when he was younger, leads the Competition Team who are actually two sets of brothers. From left to right in the picture they are brothers Seth and Mikey and brothers Jeremy and Josh. Team Member Josh currently holds the Battle of the Best 95 lb belt! Way to go Josh.

Saturday's competition will be held at the USKO Training Center located at 6794 Brockton Ave, Riverside. Our team will have five fights with Josh getting two matches.

The 5 Year Anniversary Open Mat & Taco Party was a huge success! It's been an awesome 5 Years and we look forward to the next 5. Thanks students, family and friends for coming out to the party and also training with us throughout the years.

North Orange County Martial Arts just passed a milestone, our 5 year anniversary! We could not have done it without our customers, coaches, colleagues, friends and families so we're throwing an open mat & taco party to celebrate.

It will be on Saturday March 23 at our location in Fullerton. If you haven't trained in a while, come down and join one of our classes or if you've just wanted to come and meet us and check out the facility then come do that too.

The Back Alley Bar & Grill from Downtown Fullerton will be there cooking up their famous tacos for free! And we will be giving away our 5 Year Anniversary Tshirts while supplies last.

On March 15 Coach Cam Brewer with his student Josh and father Josh Sr. flew to Santa Clara, CA to compete in the Battle of the Best IV at the Santa Clara Convention Center.

On March 16 Josh entered the cage to compete for the 95 lb belt and was victorious. Josh was able to submit his opponent in the 2nd round via arm bar! 

We our proud of our team for all the hard work and dedication they've put into this sport and we especially want to thank Josh Sr. for his commitment to his son and the sport of Youth Pankration.

On March 2 student Derek, Coach Raquel and Geoff Hartman competed in the Jiu Jitsu World League's Fight Club II. The event was held at CSU Fullerton.

Derek went undefeated for the day and even won a match by arm bar! Great job wining Gold especially from a student who has only been practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a few month.

Coach Raquel also won Gold in her division. Unfortunately she trains at another BJJ Academy, Top Team, but we are still proud of her and lucky to have her teaching.

Finally, NOCMA Founder Geoff Hartman won his first gold Jiu Jitsu medal! He has competed a few times and was able to stand on the top of the podium this day!

We would like to congratulate all our competitors and give a shout out to Professor Rob Marquardt who since joining NOCMA has brought our Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to another level!
